Viral Illegal Parking Area in Kalisari Has Been Cleared

A number of vehicles that were previously parked illegally on Jalan Damai RT 02/01, Kalisari Urban Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta are now no longer at the location.

the cars were gone

Pasar Rebo District's Head of Transportation Unit, Basuki said the illegal parking control was originally planned to involve towing. However, when officers arrived at the scene, all the vehicles had already been moved.

"The plan was to tow the four illegally parked cars. However, when we arrived at the location, the cars were gone and the area was already clean," he said, Monday (4/6).

Basuki explained that the vehicles were moved directly by the workshop owner and the vehicle owner. Two of them were moved to a nearby workshop.

Basuki emphasized that illegal parking in the area seriously disrupts residents' activities. This is because Jalan Damai is a neighborhood road with a limited width of only about five to six meters.

"Vehicles parked on the road will certainly hinder other vehicles passing by," he added.

As a preventative measure to prevent similar incidents from recurring, Basuki continued, urban village officials were advised to put up banners prohibiting parking in places not designated for it.
